MBOSE SUPPLEMENTARY EXAMS 2025: ONLINE REGISTRATION, FEES, LAST DATE

The Meghalaya Board of Secondary Education (MBOSE) has announced that the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Supplementary Examinations 2025 will be held from May 1 to May 8, 2025. Alongside the exam schedule, the board has also issued comprehensive guidelines for registration and submission. School authorities and exam coordinators are advised to carefully review these instructions before beginning the form-filling process.      The supplementary examinations offer a crucial second chance for students who were unable to pass one or more subjects in the main SSLC exams conducted earlier this year. MBOSE SSLC Results Soars But Concerns Rise Over Guidebook Dependence and Seat Availability

The result of the SSLC Exams conducted by the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) was declared on 5th April 2025. The state saw a remarkable improvement in the pass percentage, rising from 55.80% in 2024 to 87.10% this year. A total of 63,682 students appeared for the Class 10 board exams, and 55,473 of them passed.

While many people are pleased with the sharp rise in the pass percentage, some are concerned. Their worry comes from the fact that students depended heavily on the CM Impact Guide book, which was distributed a few months before the exams. Reports suggest that around 80–85% of the questions came directly from this guide. According to critics, both teachers and students focused mainly on the guide book instead of the regular textbooks. They fear this approach might harm students in the long run as they move on to Classes 11 and 12.

There are two main concerns. First, the exam was not based on understanding or problem-solving, but mostly on memorization—even in subjects like English Grammar and Mathematics. Second, there is uncertainty about whether Higher Secondary Schools and Colleges will be able to accommodate such a large number of students who passed.

The government introduced the CM Impact Guide Book to improve the low pass percentage in the state. In previous years, some schools had even recorded a zero pass rate. To prevent this and reduce dropout rates, the state felt the need to implement this system.

However, the current situation raises new worries. With such a large number of students passing, there is a growing fear that many may still struggle to find seats in Class 11 in Higher Secondary Schools and Colleges.
